Dear DISH Network Customer,

Effective August 9, 2007, HD programming in Alaska will only be available at the 110° orbital location, and will no longer be available from the 148° orbital location. Customers in Alaska who subscribe to qualifying HD programming currently requiring use of two antennas will now be able to receive their HD programming using only one antenna. Additionally, qualifying customers may also be eligible to upgrade their MPEG-2 receiver (if applicable) to a model ViP-series MPEG-4 HD receiver at no additional cost through a “like-for-like” receiver exchange under the DISH’n It Up Promotional Program.

110° Orbital Location:

·         4 premium movie channels (HBO HD, Cinemax HD, Showtime HD and Starz HD) which each require a subscription to the appropriate standard-definition premium movie package.

·         5 HD channels that make up the HD Pak (Discovery HD Theater, HDNet, HDNet Movies, HD PPV, Universal HD) – currently priced at $9.99/mo. and requires a subscription to AT100 or higher.

148° Orbital Location:

Effective August 9, 2007, HBO HD and Showtime HD, which are simulcast at the 148° orbital location, will only be located at the 110° orbital location. Customers in Alaska who currently subscribe to HBO and HBO HD and/or Showtime and Showtime HD and receive their HD programming at the 148° orbital location will need to have the appropriate receiver and antenna configuration as of August 9^th in order to receive HD programming from the 110° orbital location.

Alaska HD Migration Antenna Upgrade Promotional Program and Customer “Like-for-Like” Receiver Exchange under the DISH’n It Up Promotional Program – Effective August 9^th through September 30^th 2007:

Effective August 9, 2007 through September 30, 2007, qualifying customers in Alaska may be eligible to receive an antenna upgrade at no additional cost by participating in the “Alaska HD Migration Antenna Upgrade Promotional Program” so that they may continue to receive their HBO HD and/or Showtime HD programming (at the 110° orbital location). Please refer to the applicable Business Rules which are now posted on the Retail Care Site in the Info Center > Retailer Services and Business Tools > BUSINESS RULES > Existing Customer Promotions.

Additionally, qualifying customers may be eligible to exchange their MPEG-2 receiver for a “like” MPEG-4 receiver (please see below for eligible “like-for-like” exchange receiver models) at no additional charge through a “like-for-like” receiver exchange under the DISH’n It Up Promotional Program. Please note that you may upgrade eligible customers even if you are not their original Retailer of Record.  FILLIN   \* MERGEFORMAT

Customer “Like-for-Like” Receiver Exchange:

·         Model 6000 or DISH 811 receivers = ViP211

·         Model 921 or 942 receivers = ViP622 DVR

Please note that if a customer wants to exchange their present receiver for a receiver model other than a “like” receiver model (for example, a customer wishes to upgrade from a model DISH 811 receiver to a ViP622 DVR) and resides in a qualifying Anchorage zip code, they may be eligible to receive such a receiver by otherwise participating in the DISH’n It Up Promotional Program and paying applicable upgrade fees.  Alternatively, the customer may choose to purchase the receiver they want.

Customer Requirements:

Among other requirements and subject to additional terms and conditions, customers meeting the following requirements may be eligible to receive a “like-for-like” receiver upgrade at no additional cost and/or an antenna installation (to allow them to receive the 110º orbital signal) at no additional cost:

·         Reside in the Anchorage, Juneau or Fairbanks DMA.

·         Currently have an MPEG-2 HD receiver (6000, 811, 921 or 942) active on their account.

·         Request a “like-for-like” receiver exchange (ViP211 for 6000/811, ViP622 DVR for 921/942).

·         Currently subscribe to HBO and/or Showtime premium movie package(s).
